Sellers need to know... how to stage their homes! NEVER underestimate the importance of pre-showing preparation before putting your home on the market. In order to compete with other listings...( and there are plenty) put on your "buyer's hat" and look at your OWN home like a buyer would.
STREET APPEAL! What is going to draw people in the door? The outside of your home is the first thing a perspective buyer is going to see. Questions you need to ask yourself:
Add color with flowering plants and knock those cobwebs off the door! Make your home "attractive" and set the STAGE for the inside. It sounds like a cliché; however, "shows like a model" is what buyers like to see. Is it any wonder why model homes look like they do? You don't have to have expensive furniture or cute bric-a-brac's for your home to have the same feel. Remove clutter (NOT to the garage) buyers like to be able to walk around freely and lack of clutter makes the rooms look bigger. They also will be looking into your closets, kitchen cabinets, and garage! Now is the time to have a garage sale or take unused items to your favorite charity. I know the cute crayon picture your three year old put on the family room wall is adorable, but it may be time to touch up paint or paint that wall that is fresh for your buyer's three year old! Make a honey-do list and tackle all those small projects that you have been putting off.
Finally, open the blinds and let the sunshine in!
